Not sure yet either. Everyone's a little uneasy. Heard someone say they thought they saw something but nothing was really there.

"An event" though, I've heard that from people in town who'd been to other worlds before. That's what they called those grave markers too.

That's what the lighthouse beam means, by the way! Like, "watch out", there's an event going on! Probably!

Oh yeah? That's always what we've called 'em around here I think. It's just a convenient word for all the weird crap that happens in town, lol.

But wasn't the gravestone thing the first event of your batch? Prob just a funny coincidence that they stumbled into the right lingo!

What causes these events? How do shrines appear and disappear within the span of a week?

It depends on the event. Those shrines and stuff were set up by the forest spirits, though! I don't know where they get the stuff or even the ideas for what they do sometimes, but it's them.

Pretty much everything weird that happens around here? Forest spirits, in one form or another.

But then sometimes you get stuff like the scavenger hunt! Which I set up!

Thought they might play a role but I didn't realize their powers were so extensive. We could see each other's pasts.

Do you know anything about exactly what sorts of powers they have? I've encountered some that caused hallucinations on contact deeper in the forest, but seeing and experiencing the memory of another person by placing down a gift is a large leap from that.

That's a great question, but I don't know the answer. :( Sorry.

The green-eyed spirits are the ones known for triggering hallucinations, but I really doubt they were behind the shrines. They're nasty and mean and like to take a more direct approach to messing with you guys. And they don't come into town very often.

As for the rest of the spirits, it's REALLY hard to tell exactly what they're capable of? They're so different from each other, just like you guys... IDK how they pulled off the thing with the shrines, but since it doesn't sound like the shrines were meant to freak you out, at least not on purpose.

That's the usual difference, as far as I can tell. The green-eyeds will mess with you on purpose, but the regular forest spirits... They screw up sometimes! But they mean well. Ish. Usually.

Looked like jellyfish. I don't remember green eyes. But as you say, they're variable.

Do you know if they're native to this world?

Jellyfish is new, but even I haven't seen all the forest spirits in this place. Who knows how many are out there?

...I'm not sure where the forest spirits came from? I don't THINK they were around before this place went dark, but I don't know much about the before times.

Maybe you'll find some stuff around town that'll clue you in? Most of the town is left over from the pre-darkness days, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Some of it was! It's hard to tell sometimes. But Beacon was a town long before this place went dark.
