How's the weather up there?

( Robin I'm SO sorry he's this lame. he's got a less dumb question too, he just wants to start with niceties. i wish they were less dumb niceties, but here we are. )

Loud! The wind echoes a lot in this place. You'd think a lighthouse would feel sturdier.

How's tricks on the ground?

I can only imagine. A lighthouse probably doesn't have much in the way of sound insulation. I hope you've at least got some decent headphones.

The smell is a lot better. Majorly improved based on that fact alone, if you ask me.

A few weeks back, we had a bloom of corpse flowers. I take it you missed the worst of it.

I do! I've had a looooong time to build my collection, haha. It's pretty extensive. I could see about uploading some of it to the network if you guys would be into that?

Oh, yuck! Yeah, I didn't smell anything weird up here, but those things do crop up from time to time... Super gross. :/

I'm sure I'm safe in agreeing we would. I miss music. Noise, in general. It's a little too eerie quiet here.

Speaking of knowing, I had a question about the spirits. Since you've been here the longest of all of us, I thought you'd be the most likely to have an answer.

Yeah, I feel that. It's loud NOW, but when the lake's calm? Woof... At least the bugs came back for a bit! They're gonna go back into hiding or w/e now that winter's around the corner, but it was nice for a while.

What's the question?

It's about the spirits, actually. I was wondering if you could tell me what you know about them. They were here before any of us, correct?

LOL they're nature enough! They'll get more naturey as they get comfy again. Here's hoping we get some birds in the spring!!!

They were! Mostly. There's a woman around here that's been here since before Beacon went dark, and she said the forest spirits showed up after the World Eaters did. We don't know WHAT they are, but the running theory is that they're some new kind of species or whatever that can thrive in the end times.

That would be nice, wouldn't it? I have more experience with birds than bugs. I suppose that's a little strange.

Really? I had no idea. How has she survived all the resets?

I have to say, it's a better running theory than the one that brought me here. That perhaps spirits are some disintegrated form of the people we've lost. Considering they have some methods of human communication, it seemed a little too possible.

Yeah! Her name's Maridel. She's really shy and it's kinda dangerous for her to come into town too early? But she'll turn up eventually. You guys are a good group, I think.

Oh man... You're right, that's pretty grim. Possible, I guess? But IDK. I'm not sure how that would work.

But Maridel knows more about that stuff than me.

It's dangerous? Can I ask why? Just the distance or something else?
