forest spirit language instructions
In September's intro log, Robin hooked everyone up with ocarinas (that can now be found in the general store!) and basic instructions for a handful of "phrases" in forest spirit language, which is based on musical notes. From this point forward, these instructions will automatically appear on every tablet in the form of a simple app.
The app contains playing instructions and example audio files for the following messages:
- A friendly greeting!
- An assurance that equates to "I come in peace".
- A short melody that translates roughly to polite terms like please, thank you, and you're welcome.
- A shrill note that asks for help.
- The rough equivalent to "Danger! Run and hide!"
- The rough equivalent to "I'm lost" or "Need directions"
- The rough equivalent to "Looking for water" or "Thirsty"
- The rough equivalent to "Looking for food" or "Hungry"
- The rough equivalent to "Sympathy" or "I'm sorry"
- The rough equivalent to "Teach me"

DAYLIGHT'S EXPANSION PACK (II)
MUSIC SHEETS.
The music sheets are for the following musical instruments: Piano. Double bass. Bongos. Kazoo. These are the transcribed melodies of the basic messages of the spirit language app, with the piano and double bass having almost all of the first expansion pack's messages transcribed, with descriptive notes merely missing.
AUDIO FILES.
The audio files are the instruments playing the various translated messages. This if people wanted to practice on their own or wish to play the file but do not have access to the instruments then.
NOTES.
The notes explain a significant thing regarding the language of the spirits: They treat the use of musical instruments more like 'accents' than anything else. Wind musical instruments (the same family of the ocarinas) are easier for the spirits to understand than, say, percussion instruments. The further one deviates from the original instrument (the ocarina), the heavier the 'accent' the speaker is using when speaking with spirits. it makes it harder for the spirits to understand but long as you finish what you're saying and give them time to answer, they should be able to reply back.
